only visiting this planet
Posted on February 27, 2008
Last Sunday one of the icons of my youth left the planet. Larry Norman, shocked the Christian culture back in the 70’s … and never stopped being who he really was. Larry died of heart failure at his home in Salem, Oregon.
Larry was cut from a different cloth. Some thought he was too radical for church … he was but, he would tell you he didn’t come to preach to the converted. Larry is credited with over 60 albums. Started his own record label years ago. Still clear to his message.
It’s humorous to me those that will ‘now’ compare him to a great prophet or great Christian icon … when most main stream Christians would not even claim him when he was alive.
I liked Larry. His music. And his methods.
